We're excited to announce we're releasing the newest version of the Tive Multi-Sensor Tracker with a raft of improvements (but still that cool blue color you love). We're sending the new tracker out to beta customers starting this month, and we expect to have it in full production early next year. Here's what's changed:

Easy Returns

You'll notice the new tracker is longer and flatter than the current version, and in fact looks surprisingly like a postcard. That's not a coincidence. We've worked with the US Postal Service to make this tracker returnable in the mail with no packaging - that's right, just walk up to a mailbox and drop it in. This makes it easy for the recipient to return the tracker to the point of origin without having to worry about envelopes and postage and labels. Our embedded business reply label does all the heavy lifting.

We'll offer this service initially in the US, but don't worry, international shippers. We plan to expand this service to other regions of the world quickly.

Longer Battery Life

Another major change in the new tracker is even longer battery life. While our current tracker lasts six months (communicating every six hours), the new tracker will last twelve months at the same reporting frequency. Better yet, the tracker still uses a battery small enough to avoid cumbersome air shipment restrictions. According to our partner DHL, Tive trackers can be shipped up to two per package with no special labeling or handling restrictions, again making them easy to integrate in our customers' operations. (Note that each air carrier has it's own rules for shipping devices like trackers).

Twelve months of use puts the Tive tracker at the very head of the pack in terms of lifetime. There are trackers that last this long, but they come with brick-sized batteries that make the device hard to handle and difficult to ship. Only Tive has combined long lifetime with a small, easy-to-ship device.

Improved Location Accuracy

Tive has always had industry-leading accuracy through the use of GPS and cell-tower location services. Our new tracker improves those services and adds a WiFi sensor that enable us to detect location WiFi networks, much like a smartphone does. This enables even greater accuracy, especially in urban areas (like around ports) where there are many WiFi networks.

TiveReturn - Even Easier Returns

In addition, we're announcing the launch of "TiveReturn", a service where we provide the reverse logistics to get the tracker back to the point of origin. Some of our customers have told us they'd much rather get one box with a set number of trackers on a regular schedule, rather than trackers showing up one at a time. TiveReturn puts Tive in the middle, so trackers are returned to our fulfillment center, where we charge and check them before packing them to send to the origin point.

A Raft of Other Improvements

The new tracker has a number of other improvements as well, including a micro-USB charging port, a new 10-tracker charging rack, and many other internal improvements.

Don't Take Our Word For It

We're making this new tracker available to a limited number of beta customers over the next few months, so if you're interested in getting your hands on the very latest in real-time tracking tech, let us know. Email sales@tive.co or request a demo at www.tive.co/demo.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
