When the green flag drops to start Sunday’s NASCAR Series race in New Hampshire, location tracking company Tive and real-time visibility insight provider project44 will be well represented. The Open Visibility Network (OVN) partners are making their NASCAR series debut as sponsors of No. 15 car driven by James Davison, who will start from the 19th row.
However, diehard race fanatics who just can’t get enough of anything NASCAR, or supply chain professionals who get a rush just watching real-time track-and-trace in motion, don’t have to wait until Sunday afternoon to see the No. 15 car in motion. They can watch the vehicle’s progress on its journey to New Hampshire Motor Speedway, site of the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 NASCAR Series race.
Tim Bertrand, project44’s president of worldwide field operations, said five trackers were sent to the Rick Ware Racing Team earlier this week. Those trackers were put on the rig carrying the newly wrapped Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE from Mooresville, N.C. to Loudon, N.H.
Throughout that nearly 900-mile trek, “we’re going to be integrating (real-time) data into the project44 Visibility Operations Center showing real-time tracking of the car’s transit,” Bertrand told FreightWaves.
At the time of this writing, the car is making an overnight pitstop outside of New York City. View the latest location status here.

Trackers Providing Real-Time Data
Along with real-time location data, those trackers will also be capturing local weather, current road conditions, and the latest traffic updates. Having that information in real time will help expedite any adjustments needed to mitigate or avoid disruptions and delays.
The contents inside the hauler get equal attention. Engines are highly sensitive to rough handling. Therefore, Tive’s supply chain visibility trackers are also monitoring in-transit shock, tilt, and vibration levels. If there is even the slightest hint of a problem or damage to any part of the vehicle, an immediate alert will be sent to crews who can then be ready for repairs or have replacement parts sent to the track in time for Sunday’s race.
That is the power of Tive trackers and real-time supply chain visibility in action. And now, Tive and project44 will showcase their OVN partnership in front of millions of race fans come Sunday. The two companies launched the OVN earlier this year to produce next-generation collaborative data sharing for each of their customers.
“It is very exciting for us to know that we’re doing something that is cool and will actually have an impact on brand recognition in our market,” Bertrand said.
The race, which will be shown on NBCSN, is set to begin at 3 p.m. EDT Sunday.
